Lead executive for Aurora?s US Growth and Development efforts and processes in the Unmanned Systems arena. Key mission is to develop concrete Growth plans (by US Services and Agencies) that (1) lay out UAS Market opportunity priorities for Aurora, and (2) create detailed Pursuit Plans that achieve annual results.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Wins new business.
Understands the Government Acquisition and Requirements process and is intimately known and trusted by senior decision makers and staff personnel,
Sees opportunity in the current downturn in budgets, Develops, Qualifies, Captures, and Wins while continually managing a robust growth pipeline and relationship network.
Understands the USG budget process. Works at all levels to explain the relevancy of Aurora Programs and to keep our programs fully funded.
Key relationship manager; especially in the UAS community. Continually interfaces and builds positive relationships with all levels of government and industry customers to understand requirements, goals, dreams and concerns. Develops and maintains a strong executive level relationship with competitors, partners and subcontractors aligned with this market
Employs comprehensive budget information, customer knowledge, market information, competitive Intel, and business skills to understand where opportunity lies before the competition. Drives to have customer value propositions before competitors understand the opportunity exists.
Active, direct responsibility for tactical and strategic planning for UAS Growth to give Aurora a defined roadmap for achieving goals. Integrates International plans into the comprehensive UAV strategy. Able to create integrated Microsoft Project plans to give Aurora visibility into the actions and events that drive the growth and sales process.
Working with product line UAS managers, creates increased customer follow-up discipline and improved sales operations. Collaborates with internal product teams, working to imbed an external market point of view. Influence internal teams by building and defending cogent arguments and challenging assumptions; Influence business decisions by challenging conventional wisdom with considered, data based points of view
Exhibits an entrepreneurial spirit to motivate reporting (and non-reporting) team members to attain and over-achieve new business bookings revenue goals.
Develops and presents accurate, concise, and timely decision briefings for senior leadership and executive management; emphasis on plans, budgets, bid/ no bid decisions.
Active involvement in proposal development and review teams. Represents customer perspectives on capture/proposal teams, strategy reviews, etc. Runs proposals if required.
Creates a sales and orders pipeline. Ready to take the lead on pipeline reviews and discussions of sales strategy and tactics to win the new business as often as requested. Includes clear, thorough and consistent UAS and international market analyses: market trends, product performance, market opportunities and potential risks.
Perform all duties in accordance with the company?s values, corporate directives, government and industry regulations and guidelines
Bachelor?s Degree is required; An advanced degree is preferred - especially if it gives the candidate a better understanding of Aircraft and Unmanned Systems.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Strong Industry Experience as a Program or Growth Manager. A solid base of experience in product marketing, market analysis/research, competitive intelligence, sales and market forecasting
Prior direct experience working with senior USG leaders who are responsible for Congressional, Acquisition, Requirements and Budgets.
US Military background is a strong plus, especially as it relates to International and Unmanned Systems.
A minimum of 5 years of total experience with Unmanned Systems
Strong capture management skills required
