Manager of Payroll Accounting ServiceSource

ServiceSource is seeking a top tier candidate for the Payroll Manager role. This position will manage all aspects of the payroll function and have one direct report. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Payroll Manager will work closely with Human Resources and Accounting colleagues on payroll and related matters. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of payroll processing.
Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll for more than 1300 U.S. employees (new hires, transfers, terminations) in Workday payroll system.
Supervise day-to-day work of payroll staff, including providing direction of tasks, coordinating priorities and resources, and providing guidance and coaching on performance and development opportunities.
Continuously review and analyze payroll procedures and partner with personnel in accounting and Human Resource to recommend and implement changes to ensure best-practice in payroll operations.
Work with external auditors throughout the year for year-end financial statement audit and quarterly reviews, workers? compensation audit, 401K audit, etc
Develop and maintain payroll policies and processes to ensure the compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, as well as internal controls related to the Company?s Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives.
Prepare and oversee preparation of a variety of payroll related documents (e.g. retirement plan contributions, FSA balances, payroll register, W-2, worker?s compensation, PTO, etc.) for the purpose of compliance, internal control and audit.
Maintain/expand knowledge of existing and new payroll related legislation, and taxation of benefits.
Prepare relevant reports and analysis for management / other departments, including monthly, quarterly and year-end for gross payroll, taxes, benefits etc.
Assist with other projects as requested including rollouts of enhancements to the Workday payroll system.
Working knowledge of US payroll rules and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate to very different audiences in different functions and geographic locations; ability to discuss issues in a technical manner to the external auditors and practically to the field.
Individual must be highly motivated and able to work with tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience recording payroll-related transactions associated with equity plans (stock options, restricted stock units and employee stock purchase plans).
6- 8 years of payroll experience with a minimum of 3 years as a manager.
Prior experience with Workday payroll and Concur Travel and Expense
System implementation experience
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance desired.
