The GramercyOne engineering team is the brains behind the Booker Platform, the leading SaaS business management platform used by over 10,000 businesses in over 70 countries worldwide. The primary goal of the Systems team is to deliver a high performing and highly reliable hosting infrastructure for the Booker Platform.
We are looking for a Manager of Systems Operations that has a passion for technology, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This person will manage the Systems team in the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 production environment that utilizes physical and cloud infrastructure running both IIS and Linux.
Responsibilities:
? Overall leadership of the Systems Operations (SysOps) team
? Manage the day to day operations of a 24/7 high traffic web environment as well as plan new build-outs and initiatives
? Work closely with the Development teams to facilitate enterprise application architecture initiatives
? Oversee the long term strategy for the infrastructure architecture of the Booker Platform
? Manage all monitoring and analysis tools and processes
? Facilitate weekly reports citing metrics on server and systems monitoring, backups, and utilization, trends, successes and challenges
? Conduct capacity planning to ensure timely acquisition of IT resources and budget
? Oversee production code releases and change management processes to exceed our Service Level Agreements (SLA?s)
? Participate in strategic planning, tactical operation planning, and the development of contingency operation plans for Production and other environments
? Oversee hosting and infrastructure expenses for the department, including budgeting, tracking, and cost containment
? Act as liaison between SysOps and other departments
Qualifications:
? 6+ years total experience, including 4+ years in a production 24/7 high traffic web environment, including web hosting, security, and experience with load balancing implementations and high availability networks
? Strong understanding of best practices for network engineering, secure systems design and scalable fault tolerant web architectures
? Comfortable managing large volume web applications and 24/7 availability
? Production deployment experience with administering both Microsoft and Linux stacks
? Basic understanding of .Net / C#
? Comfortable with the command line
? Knowledge of configuration management tools like puppet/chef, and monitoring tools like Nagios/Icinga or New Relic
? Experience hosting in Amazon EC2/S3 or Rackspace Cloud
? Knowledge of MS SQL server database technologies and database clustering technologies a plus
? Excellent management, time management, communication, decision making, presentation and organization skills
Bonus Points:
? Knowledge of Redis or Mongo
? Configuration of F5 load balancer capabilities and cloud bursting
? Experience with Akamai
? Familiarity with PCI DSS security needs
