Overview:
The Manager of Transportation and Fleet Operations is responsible for the
overall transportation department, including all modes of transportation and fleet
operations and development and implementation of a comprehensive and
proactive safety program. The primary objectives of this position are to ensure
that MachineryLink Transport (MLIT) requirements are met at the lowest cost and
highest levels of service and ensuring that MLIT is in compliance with company
policies and federal, state and local regulations regarding operator qualifications
and training and record keeping. This position is located at our Kansas City
office.
We are looking for an individual who has been successful in a fast-paced
environment that required multi-tasking, contingency planning and the ability to
support a 24/7 transportation environment. The individual should have
experience in all modes of transportation, fleet operations and DOT safety
compliance.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
? Outside carrier selection, qualification and contracting.
? Manage fleet equipment programs.
? Responsible for transportation and fleet management systems.
? Manage all aspects of CSA Compliance.
? Manage and maintain all driver files, medical files, personnel files and
daily logs.
? Manage and maintain MLIT drug and alcohol program.
? Serve as the gatekeeper for all driver recruitment, training and driver
qualification.
? Safety training for all MLIT drivers and employees.
? Perform on-road evaluations for driver behavior and safe work practices.
? Conduct all accident and injury investigations.
? Manage all fleet maintenance costs.
? Manage all licensing and registration aspects of the fleet.
? Serve as backup for backhaul coordination, load planning and dispatch
positions.Skills and Educational Requirements:
? Ten years of transportation management, fleet operations and safety
experience.
? Bachelor?s degree required.
? High proficiency in all DOT regulations.
? High proficiency in all OSHA regulations.
? Background in third party transportation providers.
? Fleet management background.
? Transportation management background.
? Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
? Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving
skills.
? Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
? Ability to travel up to 25%.
