The Opportunity:
The purpose of this position is to lead the Operational Excellence team within Precision Therapeutics Quality Systems and Improvement group with the purpose of identifying and executing against performance improvement opportunities, supporting successful implementations, and building people with capabilities using contemporary performance improvement tools.
This position will have the possible reports of the following: Six Sigma Black Belt(s), Process Development Specialist, Trainer(s), Data Analyst, and Safety Officer.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Lead, mentor, supervise, and direct the work of the Operational Excellence team members
Lead and facilitate projects using Six Sigma and Lean tools to address laboratory and business process problems and design new processes to achieve results
Design and improve Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement training programs company-wide
Develop and oversee companys Green Belt and Black Belt programs
Lead current and future state value stream mapping (VSM) for business and laboratory processes, and identify kaizen project opportunities to achieve objectives in regards to capacity, cycle time, flow, cost, inventory improvements
Support process specification development
Champion standardization and process-focus throughout the organization
Develop and mentor organizations future Operational Excellence Leaders
Coach management in applying Toyota Production Systems (TPS), Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies
Coach management in establishing performance measurement systems, goals, and key performance indicators aligned with organizational objectives
Work with other process owners to make data available for process improvement
Facilitate sharing of best practices
Maintain current knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
Develop systems for reporting corporate key performance indicators
Lead training and support activities with the purpose of advancing organizational learning and creating a culture of problem solvers
Develop and execute Operational Excellence strategy for the organization
Champion and lead change initiatives
Collaborates with other members of the Quality Systems and Improvement team to meet corporate objectives
The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for, but not limited to the following company processes: Reporting Key Performance Indicators, Data Analysis and Trending, Operational Excellence Programs, Continuous Improvement Projects, Ideas for Improvement, Safety, Environmental, and Organizational Learning

Qualifications:
Education:
BS in science, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
Experience:
5-10 years experience in applying contemporary improvement tools and producing results in process-focused, transactional, and customer-focused environments
Third-party certification as a Lean Leader and/or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
