Skills, Competencies and Experience:
Required
Have strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent customer service skills
Be a resourceful, proactive problem solver, and Have the ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
Possess strong organizational and process skills
Demonstrate the ability to work well with all staff levels and with varied personalities
Strong clinical background. AND 2 years med/surg experience required.
Preferred
ICU/ER/OR and or home care experience preferred.
Education, Certifications, Trainings:
Required
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and the ability to become licensed in another state if needed
CPR certification- active
Equipment:
Required
Intermediate computer skills with programs such as: Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Telemetry equipment experience
Duties & Responsibilities
Directly supervises the clinical and order processing functions of the Pharmacy operation to ensure the provision of safe and
appropriate therapies to our patients. Perform prescription processing and clinical pharmacy activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
I. Administrative:
Ensures up to date and staff adherence to Pharmacy policies and procedures.
Ensures staff compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Manages and coordinates the day to day pharmacy operation.
Implements and maintains a prescription dispensing and compounding model to promote maximum safety
and service to our patients.
Participates in the selection, training, professional growth and development and supervision of all
pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Implements work schedules, assignments, and benchmarks to maximize operational efficiency and staff
productivity.
Conducts associate performance evaluations in accordance with HR policy for the clinical pharmacists and
pharmacy order entry technicians.
Interacts effectively with Pharmacy Management team members.
Assists in ordering of all pharmacy medications, supplies, and equipment.
Participates in the company annual budget process.
Participates in the company Performance Improvement Program.
Maintains currency required licenses for self and works with Pharmacy Regulatory Liaison to ensure
compliance of other pharmacists.
Serves as a company representative as requested in the clinical and business communities.
Participates in Renal operations meetings with Clinical Coordinators and Customer Service
II. Clinical
Ongoing development and enhancement of the Clinical Pharmacy Program
Coordinates the development and implementation of clinical protocols and staff education programs related
to the treatment of the home infusion patient.
Contributes to the development of teaching protocols and manuals for the education of our patients and
clients.
Actively involved in the evaluation and selection of new products and equipment.
Ensures and participates in the clinical assessment, evaluation and plan of treatment for patient infusion
therapies.
Recommends alternative and/or appropriate therapies and designs specific formulations best suited for the
individual patient
Reviews patient past medical history for diagnoses, performs drug regimen review and drug utilization
review for appropriateness of drug therapies.
Maintains patient profiles and other clinical records as required by regulation and company policy.
Interprets lab values and other parameters to help monitor the effectiveness and safety of the infusion therapy.
Consults with physician and provides drug therapy information, patient clinical updates, or other related
information in the provision of patient care.
Assures the safe and accurate processing of all prescriptions prior to aseptic preparation.
Participates in the educational programs presented by the company for physicians, nurses and other home
care personnel.
Maintains communication with the referring agency, physician and patient on a regular basis.
Applies for, completes all required testing, and obtains pharmacy licensure in other state as business needs
arise.
Performs other duties, special projects as assigned.

Education, Certifications, Trainings:
Required
Minimum of five years supervisory experience as Director or Manager in Home Infusion, Specialty or
Hospital based pharmacy practice
Licensure to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
BS in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. from an accredited school of pharmacy
Preferred
Advanced degree
Equipment:
Required
Proficiency in the following: MS Word and Excel
Preferred
Proficiency in CPR+ or similar software
Knowledge and experience with intravenous compounders.
