Description:
This individual is responsible for managing and executing multiple quality control department functions in support of the overall Quality System.
Management responsibilities include: staffing and training of QC personnel and the development of administrative guidelines.
Departmental responsibilities include: QC Receiving Inspection, In-Process/Final Assembly QC, and the QC Testing Laboratory.
Quality System Responsibilities include: Management of the NCMR / Deviation systems including MRB, support of the CPAR system, support of Customer Complaints process.
Manufacturing Operations support responsibilities include: QC receiving inspecting / testing raw materials, QC in-process testing, final product release, resolving non-conforming materials issues.
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for defining, directing and implementing QC policies and department resources in support of the Quality System affecting the long-term quality and manufacturing culture within the organization. This individual must lead the efforts in resolving varying levels of quality and compliance issues independently and/or directs the appropriate resources to efficiently and effectively eliminate the issue and its cause.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience and technical certification
Minimum of 4 to 7 years progressively responsible experience in Quality Control within a medical device and high volume manufacturing environments
Auditing experience preferred
Previous supervisory experience
Quality Tools ? Problem Solving / Statistical Process Control / Process Capability / Sampling Plans / Root Cause Failure Analysis
Managerial Skills ? Employee & Team Development / Career Development / Cost Accounting
Knowledge of quality systems and regulations for medical device industry. QSR & ISO-9001 laboratory experience
The individual must be technically knowledgeable with respect to quality and inspection systems/plans, regulatory standards, supplier/subcontractor management, manufacturing systems, product development, project management, material flows, and general production principles. This position requires both detail focus and systems/process perspective in execution of responsibilities. The incumbent must have a results oriented commitment to the continuing evolution and improvement of the Quality System and Manufacturing operations. This requires combining common sense, application of practical experience, and a technical knowledge base in developing, implementing and leading the Quality Control system within defined regulations in meeting corporate strategic and day-to-day objectives.
