The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the revenue cycle department and its staff.
Leads, develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures
Acts as a reimbursement information resource for staff and clients
Assists co-workers and staff from different departments with education and questions they have regarding coverage, reimbursement and medical necessity
Oversees all areas of reimbursement operations to ensure a consistent corporate accounts receivable system. Works on and ensures proper system/table setups of the patient management software
Spends time with staff during one-on-one meetings, as well as assists with periodic team meetings and discussions
Reviews and evaluates all policies and procedures on an annual basis and recommends revisions if deemed appropriate. Helps create process templates
Monitors and maximizes the company's billing and collection efforts, develops and implements billing processes and staff facilitation to provide timely and accurate billings to all types of payers. Researches Payer/Contract issues raised by staff and management
Analyzes and takes steps to address Denial Reasons, trends and frequencies
Monitors productivity log to identify performance, issues and actions taken. Looks for trends and coordinates resolutions
Assists with setting corporate goals for cash collections and receivables and directs the department towards accomplishment of those goals
Maintains a detailed knowledge of all regulations, documentation and billing requirements, utilize resources and DMERC releases to help maintain that knowledge
Plans, prioritizes, and directs work assignments, develops incentives and tools to help staff meet individual and departmental goals
Cross-communicates with reimbursement teams on updates, changes, project statuses, process changes in other departments and aspects of the business
Achieves goals as determined by Director of Revenue Cycle Management and other responsibilities or projects as assigned
Treat all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security. Understands and adheres to all state and federally mandated standards regarding confidentiality and patient rights
Bachelor Degree (BA) from a four year college or university and three to five years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two years supervisory/managerial experience.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A self-starter with the ability to motivate staff and achieve company goals
Proficient with Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
