The Manager, Site & Patient Services (SPS) is a regional manager responsible for the management of performance, growth, and professional development of Site & Patient Services (SPS) staff as well as assuming an oversight role on key projects. The Manager, Site & Patient Services works cooperatively across the organization to ensure consistent training and communication within project teams. In addition, the Manager, Site & Patient Services assures quality, consistency, and timeliness of Site & Patient services across all projects through the direct management, evaluation, and development of assigned staff. The Manager, Site & Patient Services will contribute to the overall regional responsibility for the successful and efficient delivery of services, financial performance, equipment and space needs and continually improve processes.
Strategy and Results Orientation
Manages the utilization of Site & Patient Services resources to ensure utilization targets and project budgets are met.
Ensures project FTE allocations are up-to-date within the capacity planner at all times and makes adjustments as necessary based on utilization.
Evaluates Site & Patient Services processes on an ongoing basis, measuring compliance and initiating quality improvement strategies while reviewing system efficiency and metric reports to assist with this process as available.
Provides staffing updates to Director, Site & Patient Services and makes recommendations for resource allocation and recruitment in order to meet project requirements.
Collaborates with study leadership to identify project resourcing demands, resolves potential resourcing conflicts, and facilitates mutually beneficial resolutions among project staff that promotes teamwork.
Maintains a good understanding of database systems and procedures in order to effectively serve as a department resource for new hires and existing personnel.
Responsible for administrative oversight of all direct reports, including assurance of accurate and timely time coding
Reviews and approves direct report?s CV to assure the contents contain accurate information.
Participates in new business development activities as needed: reviews budgets for proposals, attends BD proposal planning meetings, bid defense meetings and provides input to RFP?s.
Meets with investigators, administrators and personnel from pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, clinics and other research institutions as a management representative within the Site & Patient Services department.
Provides a high standard of quality service by responding to correspondence promptly, appropriately cooperating with requests, and proactively seeking to address project?s requirements.
Ensures Site & Patient Services staff adhere to training guidelines, training records are maintained and individual, and corporate training needs are identified and addressed.
Works closely with senior staff to assist them in developing the management skills necessary to perform lead project responsibilities.
Establishes performance standards for direct reports leading them to professionalism, cooperation, and a commitment to quality
Fosters an environment which encourages associate engagement , innovation and open communication.
Bachelor's degree in a health care or other scientific discipline or educational or experience equivalent
6 years experience working in clinical research (remote or on-site clinical monitoring) including 3 years experience in a leadership role, encompassing study start-up through close-out activities is required. Direct contact with multiple sponsors and/or multiple clinical/therapeutic areas preferred
In addition to being qualified by education and experience as described above, the Manager, Site & Patient Services candidate must have a record of superior performance in positions within Quintiles Outcome or a similar organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational, record retention, time management, customer service, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
