Manager, Software Engineer in Test 10gen, Inc.
10gen is looking for a Manager, Software Engineer in Test who wants to help us take MongoDB to the next level of rock solid stability, usability, and ease of use. This is no website-on-a-box QA position -- you'll be stretching your skills to lead a team devoted to testing the distributed, multi-platform MongoDB server. We take software quality seriously and the individual who accepts this role will be required to work with all engineering department heads to ensure that each release is better than the next.Fun things you get to do
Dream up test cases to push MongoDB to the limit and then working to build testing infrastructure that incorporates these tests into the release qualification process.
Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis.
Work with MongoDB users and 10gen customers to reproduce bug reports from the field.
Work with the product manager and engineering leads to produce great test plans and ensure that they are followed.
Requirements
Strong problem-solving ability
Excellent communication skills required to document and report defects
Experience with automation tools
Functional UNIX and Windows experience (including scripting and automation)
Programming knowledge of JavaScript or Python
Experience testing distributed, enterprise software
Experienced team leader with demonstrated project management skills
Nice to haves
Experience with cloud providers (EC2, Rackspace, Joyent) preferred
Programming knowledge of C or C++ an asset
Experience with JIRA bug tracking software
Database experience (SQL or Non-relational) a big plus
