Position Summary:
Responsible for managing the development of software to ensure that software engineering projects and initiatives meet specified milestones and schedules
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Manages the development of a specific software product or group of products
Responsible for daily operation of the department and ensuring that software engineering projects and initiatives meet specified milestones and schedules
Exercises independent judgment and discretion in overall project management. Prioritizes, plans and tracks project progress. Provides status reporting to the Director of Software Engineering.
Designs, develops and modifies programs, including prototypes. Researches product development options and provides analysis for product direction.
Consults with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into project objectives. Provides support regarding product development to internal departments.
Manages a staff of software engineers. Evaluates employee performance, sets expectations and goals for department and individual staff members, recruits, disciplines and trains staff.
Creates related documentation.
Perform other duties as required
Requirements (the ?technical stuff?):
Minimum of a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, required.
7 or more years experience in content/software engineering and 3 or more years of management experience
Web Service specific experience particularly with Axis and Tomcat
JMS specific experience
C++ and/or C# experience particularly Microsoft COM based experience
Preferred Skills & Experience:
3+ years of integration or configuration of Point of Sale Technology (preferably Xpient, Radiant, Micros or Par)
Credit Card Processing Integration Services experience
Java Certifications
Experience complying with PCI - DSS standards
Time management skills (schedules, timelines, task prioritization)
Exceptional people skills
Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities and rapid change
Team oriented
Strong organizational skills
