The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead the purchasing function for the organization with a $150 million dollar budget. The incumbent will be responsible for all activities including procuring technology hardware, software and maintenance acquisition and centralizing the IT organization's purchasing activity.
Additional responsibilities include contract management, renewal, enterprise licenses, vendor relationships and vendor performance management. He/she will interface with senior Information Technology leaders, to help craft the vision, negotiate the best deals and cultivate relationships that will benefit our technology platforms.
This role requires a strong understanding of strategic sourcing as a professional discipline, with focus on technology purchasing. The ideal candidate will have very specialized procurement expertise of IT infrastructure (network/servers) as
well as consumer products (laptops, printers, software) and serves as an advisor/thought partner to our senior technology leaders.
Candidate must possess excellent time management, interpersonal and relationship building skills. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing and implementing contract and procurement strategies and programs to increase operational efficiency. This role reports to the Corporate SVP & Controller.
?Manage the development and implementation of IT purchasing process, standards and strategies, policies, and procedures.
?Management of the assigned purchasing team. Develop individual plans to assist staff where necessary.
?Procure hardware, software and peripherals for IT and the organization.
?Negotiate support, delivery, terms, conditions, and pricing; and identify future purchasing opportunities.
?Manages contract activities & contract development.
?Develop asset management policies and procedures, including assessing inventory levels, order tracking and replenishment strategies. This role will work closely with User Support Technologies team in developing these strategies and track software and licenses.
?Manage enterprise license agreements with Microsoft and other vendor relationships.
?Expected to be proactive and perceptive in approach to solving business problems, generating cost savings, anticipating issues and providing expert advice.
?Effectively communicates with all levels of internal users including senior management. Works closely with IT senior staff, legal and finance and others to lead, educate and manage vendor process
?Lead the development, distribution, analysis, and presentation of RFIs and RFPs on initiative based projects.
?Develop and manage supplier performance scorecards
?Engage in the financial monthly forecasting process
?Analyze industry and/or procurement trends and spending
?Establish and maintain maintenance contracts
?Manage the IT vendor portfolio relationship
?Resolves vendor problems regarding procurement, quantities and specifications
?Implement a continuous improvement process
? A four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS or business administration, or technical discipline
? Procurement certification (CPM, preferred, but not required)
? Minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar IT procurement role in a highly-technical, high-growth environment
? Strong working knowledge and ownership of procurement system, controls, workflow and efficiencies
? Strong knowledge of technical hardware, software, servers and storage devices
? Demonstrated track record of leadership, client and vendor management
? Ability to ask technical questions and converse on technical topics
? Demonstrate excellence in managing internal customers with excellent collaboration skills, strong listening skills and naturally inclusive in decision-making environments
? Experience in contract administration & negotiation with large technology service providers
? Proven track record of achieving significant cost savings with high volume, multi-year contracts
? Experience with e-procurement/supplier relationship management tools
? Excellent high level analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving and ability to make decisions
? Candidate must be energetic, motivated and able to multi-task
? Detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent verbal, written and communication skills
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; solid presentation skills
? Strong project management
