Summary:
Manages global systems administration teams. Provides direction to regional systems administration supervisors and technicians. Oversees the development, project related work, testing, and 24x7 support of application systems and database systems. Advises systems analyst personnel concerning administrative procedures, technical problems, and priorities. Responsible for hiring, performance appraisals, and pay reviews; coaching of team members.
This position will provide management and support to the Systems Administrators. The System Administration Manager is responsible for the planning, budgeting, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the
enterprise-wide Information Technology portfolio. The responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day technical activities related to maintaining a reliable and effective application environment responsive
to the requirements of IT management.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience can be substituted for degree
Experience:
8+ years experience of systems analysis experience to include project leadership experience
2+ years management and leadership experience.
2+ years experience with VMWare ESXi and VCenter
Skills:
Supervises, develops and mentors the Systems Administration teams by utilizing effective goal setting and management techniques and methodologies
Develops and manages the System Administration team?s projects, tasks, schedules and resources in accordance with IT Management?s established goals, budgets, and timelines
Works with the user community to determine and improve satisfaction levels with products and identifies when technology changes, additions and/or training programs are necessary to achieve a better user experience
Develops and maintains an upgrade and maintenance methodology for the applications including patches, upgrades, additional manufacturer functionality, 3rd party applications; makes system level recommendations to the Network Technologies team
Develops long range application planning and works with IT management to integrate the plan with IT?s overall strategy
Develops and maintains documentation related to projects and application implementation, configuration, changes, customizations, and personalization
Works with IT management to develop fiscal budgets for equipment, software, services, licensing, and training as well as the development of IT policies and procedures
High knowledge of Microsoft architectures and licensing.
High knowledge systems analysis and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Microsoft System Center
High level of decision-making, communications, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in the development process.
High level of project leadership skills.
Ability to quickly resolve complex systems problems
Knowledge of TCP/IP stacks/ports and their functionality
Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures
Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly
Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information
Knowledge of Linux and Oracle systems administration.
Additional desire skills:
Configuration and deployment of Linux based systems; MS SQL and SQL language; managing server backups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the development of Global IT Systems Administration resources.
Assigns and monitors work of systems analysts, providing technical support and direction.
Provides technical leadership for systems administration personnel concerning maintenance, procedures, technical problems, and priorities
Provide performance reviews and feedback to team members
Develop skills of the team
Reports to Director, Operations and Infrastructure on individual system administrator?s efforts in the technical areas of systems administration, recovery and project related work.
Reports to Director, Operations and Infrastructure the progress and results regarding teams activities and goal attainment
Ensures that systems administration staff is responsive to end user needs
Develops and establishes departmental standards and procedures.
Evaluates current and projected hardware and software systems.
Enhances technology expertise, keeping current with evolving systems analysis, programming and database technology.

Supervisory Responsibility:
System Administration supervisors and technicians
Scope of Responsibility:
Manages servers in a global Active Directory environment, ensuring that each server has 100% uptime
Maintains a broad knowledge of operating systems, and hardware
Monitor system logs and activity on all servers and devices
Responds to system failure alerts
Lead and guide the work of other staff
Attend and actively participate in meetings with the business, applications, operations & infrastructure
Coordinate with development team to schedule releases of software updates
