Manager: Transaction Risk Management Etsy

About the Job

Etsy is seeking a senior manager with deep expertise in managing online fraud. As a member of Etsy?s payments team, you will be responsible for establishing and managing buyer-focused fraud-related controls that offer the best possible customer experience and financial performance while maintaining the integrity of our marketplace. You will use quantitative methods and analyses to project the impact of changes, and measure their performance once implemented. You will work closely with your colleagues in the operations teams to ensure that manual reviewers and credit analysts have the best available information and tools to make decisions.

As the ideal candidate for this position, you have several years of risk management experience at a top online retailer, marketplace or other e-commerce platform. You are fluent in SQL and Excel, and you understand how the various ?fraud knobs? interact and how to identify and manage towards the optimal setting.

The Senior Manager, Transaction Risk Management is responsible for developing, executing against and reporting on Etsy?s transaction risk management strategy. Our organization is growing rapidly and this leadership position requires someone who is able to scale ahead of our business. The incumbent will:

- Define, manage to, and report on transaction risk KPIs including total cost of fraud
- Balance and support various business needs including rapid growth, international expansion, product usability and adoption
- Work across and outside Etsy with product development and engineering, credit, legal, finance, and accounting
- Build a team of world-class analysts
- Manage relationships with third-party partners
- Assist in Etsy?s overall recruiting effort and mentor other employees

About You

- 3-5 years of experience in transaction risk management experience at a top online retailer, marketplace, or other e-commerce platform
- Familiarity with the payments ecosystem
- Comfort with financial modeling and analysis
- Experience leading and growing a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional teamwork, organizational and analytic skills
- Track record of innovation and flexibility in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- BA/BS in Computer Science or Engineering preferred
