THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Manager of Truckload Operations is responsible for the development and management of the full truckload service delivery process and experience. Specifically, this position will have direct responsibility for the success and growth of Truckload pricing competitiveness, truckload carrier development, logistics and truckload coverage functions. The Truckload Operations Manager, functions as the expert for strategies, call flows, and work flow processes. This role is the liaison between department managers within Truckload Operations, Sales, and IT to insure all processes and systems are functioning at maximum efficiency to provide superior service and drive truckload shipment growth at maximum market potential. Specifically, this role plans and develops objectives and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department, and builds strong internal and external relationships at all levels in order to be responsive to changing customer requirements. Additionally, this role supervises the day-to-day operations of employee teams; driving performance to achieve business objectives and managing the working resources to provide quality customer service and market growth. It is the responsibility of the Manager to maintain employee engagement and retention while accomplishing business goals. This role should be highly involved with both the metrics and the people to help make the Company an Employer of Choice.
Business Operation and Growth:
Manages core deliverables for various aspects of the truckload shipment service function to include coverage, margin levels, logistics, automation of coverage and tracking functions as well as development of carrier relationships for the Company.
Leadership and Development:
Hires, trains, develops, monitors, and appraises staff effectively. This includes taking corrective action as necessary, in a timely manner, in accordance with company policy. Responsible for fostering a culture that welcomes development to help employees meet goals. Regularly reviews employee performance to provide direct feedback. Consults with senior leadership and Human Resources as appropriate.
Proactively collects and analysis key business metrics and uses this data to support Company truckload shipment and carrier initiatives. This includes the investigation, analysis, and implementation of business processes to support the automation of carrier load assignments. Partners with Truckload Operations and Corporate Analytics to identify changes needed in contracts, terms and pricing. Reviews team metrics and reports and provides regular updates to upper management to communicate progress toward goals and suggestions to enhance performance and/or offerings.
Ensures high quality customer satisfaction through focus on building productive working relationships internally within the department and externally within the rest of the company and with outside contacts.
Acts as a liaison to other Freightquote.com teams to resolve issues and educate about the Truckload business and shipment process.
A Bachelor?s degree in Business or related field is required. Equivalent related work experience will be considered.
At least five years of professional experience in transportation brokerage or a logistics related position. Will consider other professional brokering background.
Knowledge of the transportation industry
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
Knowledge of call flow management with the ability to build and develop call analytics
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and function as a liaison between various work groups in order to maximize departmental efficiency.
Strong analytical and process improvement skills
Strong computer skills with the ability to use MS Office programs effectively; additional experience with various call center technologies strongly preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers as well employees at all levels of the organization in both verbal and written form.
Effective project management skills, and ability to multi-task.
