The Opportunity
Eduventures, the industry leader in research and consulting for higher education institutions, seeks a Managing Vice President, Sales & Marketing to drive sustained, profitable growth. Reporting into the CEO, the Managing Vice President, Sales & Marketing is responsible for overseeing and directing Eduventures? sales force and the marketing organization.
We are seeking an energetic, self-confident, and successful sales leader, the majority of whose experience has been within the research and advisory sector and who has an impressive track record in leading a team to drive profitable growth. This individual must be a team leader with an energy level and drive that motivates those around him/her to focus and to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Managing multiple sales teams to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual bookings targets
Directing and coordinating company sales and marketing functions
Developing and coordinating sales selling cycle and methodology
Directing and overseeing the company marketing function to identify and develop new clients for the firm's offerings and services
Researching and developing strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development
Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results
Developing and managing sales and marketing budgets, and overseeing the development and management of internal operating budgets
Planning and coordinating public affairs, and communications efforts, to include public relations and community outreach
Supervising the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials
Conducting routine pipeline reviews and providing regular forecasts to the CEO and senior management
Designing incentive compensation structures that will maximize sales force productivity
Demonstrating best practices in consultative selling and building out internal sales processes
Partnering with sales teams to define and scope near- and long-term new sales strategies and tactics across product lines
Managing the performance, development, and career paths of inside and outside sales professionals
Training sales teams on best practices with respect to lead qualification, sales techniques, information sharing, closing sales, and other relevant activities
Working with Eduventures leadership team, sales representatives, and content teams to determine the knowledge, skills, and tools that are necessary to successfully position the firm?s offerings and conducting the appropriate activities in the sales cycle in today?s market
Requirements
Proven success in sales management with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales quotas
Superior leadership and team development skills
Exceptional presentation and communication skills
A well-developed understanding and expertise of the consultative sales approach
Self-motivation, high-energy, charisma, and an entrepreneurial spirit
Willingness and availability to travel (25-40% travel is required)
Knowledge of and familiarity with the higher education community is a plus
A bachelor's degree is required; an M.B.A. or M.Ed. is a plus
Minimum of seven years of consultative sales experience and sales management experience
