MANUFACTURING ENGINEER- ELECTRICAL (#123) Aquion Energy
MANUFACTURING ENGINEER- ELECTRICAL
The Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineer, is an expert in understanding and identifying electrical failure modes and developing manufacturing processes to detect electrical defects during both pilot and production operations. The Manufacturing Engineer is experienced working with electrical and mechanical test equipment and has a fundamental understanding of how electrical devices are constructed and function.. The key deliverables of this role are test specifications, process specifications, and process verification work plans that can be leveraged for development and implementation of production quality processes.
Develop and facilitate the deployment of electrical tests and characterization methods.
Review existing quality control data and product teardown analysis to determine detectable failure modes. Publish process reports and defect analysis.
Manage the acquisition of required test equipment for process development activities.
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and issues
Perform disciplined process engineering verification & improvement on electrical processes by following a structured problem solving such as Six Sigma.
Develop a detailed process flowchart, identify CTQ variables, perform MSA, understand & eliminate special cause variation, and then apply DOEs to verify the robustness of the process.
Take responsibility for insuring all process and product changes & improvements are approved and documented in the respective SOPs, WI, & process parameter sheets.
Utilize leadership & team skills to insure good process stewardship (Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost) in a cross-functional team environment.
Set up data collection, analysis and feedback to achieve superior process performance.
Establish and document manufacturing processes in support of new products, processes and material changes.
Assist with the design and implementation of custom manufacturing equipment
Use electrical knowledge to troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues as they arise.
BS in Electrical Engineering is preferred, but Chemical and Mechanical Engineering with applicable experience will be considered.
Familiar with SME, IEC, UL, ISTA, and IEEE testing standards
7-10 years of experience in manufacturing/electrical process / test engineering role
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Proven abilities in using quality tools (SPC, Process Capability, Gage R & R, DOE, etc) to analyze, develop, and start-up electrical processes.
