This individual will provide expertise to manufacturing operations to improve yields, and grow manufacturing capacity to meet business needs. Support the development, documentation, verification, and ongoing manufacturing of products and processes required to produce an implantable Neuro-Stimulator and supporting lead systems.
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment with an emphasis on DFM; conferring with equipment vendors and soliciting input from operators.
Defines, implements, and maintains process documentation (MPI and WI) and data needed in manufacturing to guarantee reproducible, reliable, and efficient manufacturing processes.
Champions' continuous improvement projects to enhance yield, consistency, performance, manufacturing flow, and equipment utilization. Supports increasing production capacity to meet company business objectives by scaling current processes.
Supports manufacturing operations including the investigation into root cause of part and assembly defects and/or failures. Recommends and implements appropriate corrective actions.
Participates in process risk analysis and mitigation activities including PFMEA/PFMECA, and process control plans for new processes.
Manages the transfer of designs into manufacturing for new and modified products. Supports the execution of process validation activities including, IQ, OQ, PQ requirements.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production and labor cycle times, and material costs; estimating future requirements. .
Provides direction and guidance for manufacturing personnel, including operators, technicians and engineers. Lead activities on the manufacturing floor inclusive of, operator training, troubleshooting processes or equipment, evaluation of workflows, 5s and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Assists in providing constant presence and support to operations in the manufacturing areas to avoid production interruption.
Perform responsibilities while complying with NeuroPace Quality systems procedures.
BS degree in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering or similar field, and a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience including direct implantable leads or catheter manufacturing engineer experience. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Requires working knowledge in DFM, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, as well as DOE and Statistical Process Control.
Experience in re-tooling manufacturing processes and methods to increase production capacity while improving efficiency is highly desired.
Proficient in the use of Pro/E or other solid modeling software. Familiar with industry standard drafting and tolerance practices; proficient in Office PC applications.
Experienced in selecting and working with suppliers to develop custom assemblies and fixtures.
The ideal candidate must be self motivated, highly organized, and resourceful in solving manufacturing issues, requiring minimal direct management. In addition, well-developed team orientation with strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem solving/analytical skills, are required.
Experienced working within a GMP and ISO 13485 environment.
