Manufacturing Engineer Achates Power

The Manufacturing Engineer develops, validates and documents manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer follows manufacturing processes and part production from the procurement of materials to pre-delivery inspection and quality control. Responsibilities also include design for manufacturing of Achates Power engines, working with engine designers to optimize engine components for ease of manufacturability, reliability and cost. The Manufacturing Engineer also works with the Assembly and Engine Testing departments on the resolution of technical issues. This position is the main interface between external process suppliers, and represents Achates Power in design for manufacture with OEMs and customers.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering or manufacturing
Five years of manufacturing process development experience, preferably with engines and engine components, including:
Material properties, analysis and applications
Tooling design and applications
Manufacturing process validation
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Part quality control using dimensional measurement tools
Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) programming and utilization
Electronics and test equipment
Process documentation and organization
Desirable Skills:
Master of Science in mechanical engineering (MSME) or manufacturing engineering
Pro/Engineer (ProE) and Pro/Manufacturing experience
Statistical process control (SPC)
Manufacturing cost control and analysis
