As a manufacturing engineer at New Scale you will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods for a wide range of miniature motion systems, ensuring that the final product consistently meets all product specifications and quality standards. You will work with process engineers to develop manufacturing processes and coordinate manufacturing launch for new and revised products. You will also evaluate and certify vendors for key manufacturing items.You will use SolidWorks to design assembly tooling and work with the design engineering team to create assembly drawings as well as manage documentation control and ECOs. You will develop, define and document our assembly processes, present them to the assembly team, and analyze processes and products for potential improvements in costs, quality and efficiency.
We require a BS degree in manufacturing, electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field. Qualifications include knowledge of conventional machining practice and CAD/CAM, use of optical gaging measuring systems, quality control techniques (Six Sigma yellow belt), 5S techniques, and product and process development. The position requires a strong quality orientation and attention to detail, an ability to analyze and solve problems, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience in precision manufacturing and micron-level assembly and measurement.
