General Position Description: Design of inspection gauges, or creating inspection criteria from part drawings. Assist in developing inspection team capabilities, either through training or improving inspection processes. Interface with engineering to provide support as needed. Manage calibration system to ensure compliance with Globus Medical standard operating procedures.
Perform programming function for video measuring equipment to set up multi-part inspections and for ?one piece? evaluations.
Define and review the specifications for gauging, fixtures, and tools needed for the inspection function. Define/Design special inspection equipment as needed to support the inspection requirements.
Monitor inspection activities to ensure a high quality of parts received
Review quality issues and work with engineers for Non-conforming material evaluations and resolution. Establish follow-up processes as needed for the new deliveries.
Perform training for the inspection staff on techniques and processes to achieve quality inspection work.
Perform part inspections for working knowledge of various material category features.
Perform part quality evaluations for situations of questionable quality. Document the discrepancies from the drawing and work with Purchasing, Engineering, and Vendor as needed, to resolve the quality issue.
Provide necessary support to engineering staff for inspection methods on new products.
Perform inspections on complex parts for assistance to the engineering staff
Oversee Calibration database to include: solicit quotes from metrology labs, perform in-house calibrations, maintain accurate and complete records, and ensure calibration is in compliance with Globus standard operating procedures
Responsible for continuous process improvement in the inbound inspection processes and techniques to affect improved efficiencies.
