Manufacturing Process Engineer Intematix
Position Location: Intematix Corporate Headquarters, Fremont, CA
Reports to: Director of Manufacturing
This position is primarily responsible for performing the design and implementation of chemical
processes, instrumentation and equipment, providing expertise in phosphor engineering, design
and process and/or scale-up, and assisting the manufacturing operation in problem solving with
regards to equipment and systems. Involvement may begin during design and development for
manufacturing from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing. Works closely with R&D, Process
Engineering, and Manufacturing Management to design and carry out manufacturing process
improvement experiments including but not limited to new and existing equipment operation,
standard operating procedures, standard operating conditions and controls. Also responsible for
developing and recommending new process formulas and technologies to achieve cost
effectiveness and improved product quality, conducting research/literature searches of current
synthetic chemicals and establishing operating equipment specifications and improving
manufacturing techniques by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Works with Design Engineering to ensure substantial product and process specifications
are released to manufacturing.
? Ensures design for manufacturability is performed on all new product development
? Establishes best-in-class manufacturing processes through research of process
engineering techniques and continuous improvement of existing process technologies.
? Establishes top level processes for function and oversees documentation of all operational
? Processes qualification / validation.
? Ensures ISO compliant manufacturing documentation and controls are established and
? Technical Interface with supplier qualifications.
Quantitative and qualitative, related to the areas of responsibility.
? Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Material Engineering
? Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
? Thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing techniques.
? Use of continuous improvement, quality tools, and statistical process control
? 5+ years experience in the chemical processing industry.
? Familiar with Microsoft Office and analytical tools for running DOE and data analysis.
? Focus on designing and implementing tooling for volume manufacturing.
? Is the primary liaison between R&D and Manufacturing, acting as a Product Manager to
own the timely transition of products through the product release phases.
