The Manufacturing Process Engineer plans and executes process and productivity improvement initiatives in our Auburn, Maine manufacturing facility.
Analyzes process capabilities on a cell-by-cell basis to develop and execute continuous improvement projects.
Ensures that manufacturing process capability and processes meet profitability targets for new product launches.
Analyzes machine performance and develops and helps to implement machine uptime improvement.
Provides engineering input on specifications, design, and layout for capital equipment projects.
Participates in and acts as a resource for the continuous improvement and safety teams.
Other duties and projects as needed
Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering required, Mechanical or Textile Engineering preferred.
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience required, with Non-Woven experience.
Experience in leading continuous improvement activities required. (Lean, Six Sigma, or Toyota Productions System.)
Automotive manufacturing experience is helpful. Experience with non-wovens or staple fiber operations required.
Project Management skills and experience with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
Ability to execute projects from start to finish and meet deadlines and cost constraints.
Effective communications and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to work effectively with line operators.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and Project.
