Reporting directly to the Market Development Director for the designated coverage area, the Market Development Manager applies knowledge of the assigned hospitals or hospital systems and develops sound professional relationships with key decision makers. This role is responsible for engaging and probing a range of specialists, clinicians and healthcare professionals and translating information from those conversations to actionable launch activities following FDA approval of Durata?s drug product(s).
In assigned geographies/accounts, partners with the Market Development Director to prioritize areas that may require more market development effort in order to prepare for a successful launch.
Delivers on set strategy for assigned geographies/ accounts and assesses the competitive environment, developing and implementing account-based plan of action in anticipation of launch activities.
Leads the pursuit of new opportunities and manages and cultivates professional relationships, to achieve the Company?s pre-launch efforts.
Leverages institutional knowledge in assigned geographies / accounts in order to understand potential barriers and/or opportunities to interact with those institutions.
Ensures a business plan for assigned geography/accounts is in place with measurable goals and objectives. Business plans should include tactical recommendations for developing information listed on the company?s launch plans as outlined in the CRM as well as continue any previous discussions.
Ability to translate pre-launch activities to high impact launch activities post- approval.
Support the Market Development Director in sourcing, recruiting and interviewing activities to insure that the Region is fully staffed for launch.
Bachelor?s Degree required; Master?s degree in Business preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years of experience in bioscience commercial positions, including but not limited to some of the following: sales representative, hospital representative, sales trainer, marketing, and regional account manager.
Recent experience in the hospital market and in infectious disease is highly desirable.
