MARKET DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGIST - PART-TIME GlobalSpec

Reports To:Market and Community Development Manager
FLSA Status:Non-Exempt
Position Summary: The Market Development Technologist is responsible for creating prospects and maintaining an electronic database of product and service suppliers within targeted markets. Job responsibilities include analyzing the supplier database and creating reports as needed, understanding the GlobalSpec market and users, and conducting research to obtain new prospect information.

Principal Responsibilities:

Maintain supplier contact and company information in a SQL database.
Import new prospects from a variety of sources into a prospect database.
Create and manipulate queries to generate reports for department use.
Use Excel to format and interpret large quantities of data.
Qualify suppliers according to priority and relevancy for Sales and Marketing purposes.
Classify supplier products and services into a taxonomy for inclusion in the GlobalSpec.com website.
Research sources for prospective suppliers within targeted markets and industries.
Assist in cleansing of user registrations and leads.
Assist in improving processes and documentation using lean thinking principles.
Support site moderation of the CR4 engineering and technical community as needed.
Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements/Skill Specifications:

Education:
Business/Marketing and technical knowledge required.
Active pursuit of AS, BS, or BA in Management or Business Administration preferred.
Concentration in Information Systems or Computer Science is desirable

Skills:
Proficiency with Excel, Access, SQL Server, Word, and web browsers
Using and maintaining electronic databases.
Proficiency with VBA, SQL, Java, C, Coldfusion and/or Python is a plus
Attention to detail
Effective organizational team player
Strong project management and time management.
Written and oral communication skills.
