Market Research Team Lead-Client Services
GMI is recruiting for a Team Lead in who can take ownership of a small number of complex projects and also oversee a team of Project Managers. Key responsibilities will be to coordinate and facilitate operational activities including sample management as well as advising and coaching Project Managers in their day-to-day challenges. This position is in our sampling focused project management team working with clients who program their own surveys and primarily come to Lightspeed/GMI for sampling expertise. A minimum of 2 years of experience with a market research supplier is required.
Non Project Management Functions (75%+):
Solidify client relationships for all projects sold on assigned accounts. Meet with clients and proactively investigate their needs for ongoing and future engagements.
Act as direct manager to Project Managers (PMs) and provide feedback, review, delegation & work assignment, training & development, mentoring.
Coordinate resource allocation to ensure that the team delivers on time, on spec and budget.
Key involvement with PMs regarding client interaction, internal process improvement, consultation and the utilization of value-add services
Work on a variety of client centric initiatives, internal initiatives, training and continuous education.
Coordinate with other teams to streamline project execution. Support Business Development and Pricing Team as appropriate.
Review project work to ensure established profitability standards and vendor margins are met.
Provide project level reporting and estimating as required for forecasting/budgeting purposes.
Support the hiring and development of colleagues for the betterment of the team.
Management of Projects (up to 25%):
Manage a small number of complex, strategic projects requiring collaboration with other departments.
Coordinate and manage internal data collection activities.
Proactively contact clients to finalize project specifications maintain updates.
Identify and communicate potential problems as appropriate and bring to resolution.
Manage panel partners and outsourcing operations company to ensure field requirements are met.
Follow QA procedures to ensure quality and accuracy throughout all phases of projects.
Bachelors Degree (preferably in Market Research, Statistics, Economics, Business).
2+ years of experience in project management with a market research supplier.
Panel experience a plus.
Experience managing a team a plus.
Strong computer skills including Excel, SPSS, and aptitude to use web-based survey tools.
Strong communication skills, ability to distill issues, manage client expectations, and communicate in a timely manner under pressure.
