Marketing and Communications Writer Managing Editor

The Marketing and Communications Writer will play a key role in contributing factual and creative content to the marketing team. The ideal candidate will have strong content marketing skills; a proven ability to produce solid, clear writing; and initiative to seek out and create meaningful stories. The candidate will be comfortable utilizing buyer personas and analytics for copy that increases our digital footprint and helps the sales team. He or she will be able to work comfortably as a member of the team or independently, and will bring analytical thinking, sound judgement and attention to detail.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Write original, relevant copy for blog posts, email campaigns, case studies, brochures, press releases, and other material for web and print publication.
Edit and proofread software-related website and social media content..
Research, write and report customer success stories case studies and press releases.
Provide research and project support for the creative team.
Incorporate SEO strategies into copy.
Generate copy for brochures and other marketing materials that educate and inform prospects and customers.
Keep up with frequent blog posts that are meaningful and effective at driving traffic and developing a following.
Edit content for presentations (Powerpoint, Prezi, etc.) for the sales team, making sure the message is effective and on point.
Assist with copyediting, fact checking and brand standards.
Write, review and edit website marketing content.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related field.
Basic competency in search engine optimization, social media and Web-based technology.
Ability to translate information from technical sources into clear, accessible prose.
Readiness and interest to keep up with rapidly changing technology in the software industry and the field of content marketing.
Strong multitasking capabilities and ability to quickly adapt to changing needs.
Demonstrated researching and interviewing skills.
Experience with the following are a plus: B2B copy writing, white papers, publishing production systems, documentation and technical writing, internal communications and press release distribution tools (i.e. PR Newswire).
Strong written and oral communication skills.
A positive attitude and sense of humor are required.
