Job Description
The PatientsLikeMe marketing team is a small, dynamic group devoted to building a great brand and getting the word out to patients about our site. This position will report directly to the Director of Marketing & Communications. We're looking for an energetic, fast-learner who can think on the fly and be a team player that communicates as well outside the company as you do inside the company.
About PatientsLikeMe
PatientsLikeMe is a free online community for all patients with any life-changing condition. Members create profiles with detailed health data -- think treatments taken, symptoms, diagnosis history and more -- and share those experiences with the entire community. The end result? Patients taking control of their own disease while helping other patients and contributing to research. Featured in New York Times Magazine, BusinessWeek, CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, and WIRED, the Cambridge-based company is a for-profit that's on the path of disrupting medicine by putting patients first.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns
Create patient-driven content and/or promotional collateral, including videos, podcasts, flyers, media kits, t-shirts, HTML emails, etc.
Manage, analyze and improve online and offline word of mouth programs, including PatientsLikeMeInMotion and social media pages (YouTube, Flickr, Twitter, Facebook)
Document and organize marketing dashboard, program calendars, campaign tactics and analytics
Engage with the community to get a sense of real-world patients' wants, needs and experiences
Participate in and/or initiate cross-functional collaboration within the company to effectively communicate and strategize with teammates
Think creatively, stay organized, meet deadlines and communicate well -- and know how and when to do each of those things
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
2+ years of marketing experience (healthcare, pharmaceutical or social media industry a plus)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (writing sample and editing assignment required)
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivation and desire to always make things better
(Desirable) Experience with social media marketing, PR, event marketing, direct mail and/or video/podcast creation
