Marketing Communications (marcom) reports to Marketing Management which is tasked with maintaining a consistent company image and position in the marketplace. The primarily
responsibilities includes the creation of interest and demand for products
through the conception and copywriting of all collateral material, advertising,
direct response mail, web and other types of communication media. The marketing
department is also responsible for successfully participating in trade show and
conference exhibitions (increased leads, brand retention, and visibility to key
customers). The department is also responsible for the management of public
relations including press releases and industry associations.
The primary responsibilities of this position are tactical in nature and are needed
to assist in meeting the goals of the department. Specific tasks include but
may not be limited to:
Coordinate the production and distribution of literature worldwide. Electronic and printed collateral must be managed and controlled. Fulfill literature orders for reps,
distributors, sales people and events.
Manage artwork and graphic design trough third party specialists to create poster, ads, graphics and artwork for a variety of uses. We use Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. High
level creative art design skills are not needed but knowledge of good design
principles are. Ads and brochure designs are generally outsourced and the
Marcom Specialist is responsible for managing the projects and the suppliers;
this is not a position for a graphic designer
Coordinate web design tasks and SEO projects through third party specialists
Coordinate email / mail campaigns to customers and maintain contact database
Coordinate the production and distribution of promotional items, CDs, videos.

Document and file management skills are important. Literature and other sales tools must
be created, revised, saved, produced and distributed globally. Files will have
multiple revisions and multiple languages. Hard copy and electronic delivery
tools are used to distribute information globally.
Excellent written communication skills are required. The employee will impact customers,
vendors, and investors with written messages that may not be proof read.
Excellent verbal communication skills are required. The employee will coordinating tasks with outside consultants and suppliers such as graphics designers, editors, trade show and exhibit
The candidate must be adaptable to a variety of job assignments in a very dynamic
organization and must be a self-starter with the ability to learn technical
product details and terminology.
A Bachelors Degree with a marketing focus is desirable but not required. The most
important quality is the ability to coordinate projects, manage deadlines, and
1-3 years of experience in marketing communications or related field is required.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word ,Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. Graphic
design skills and an understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, In
Design, Photoshop, Macromedia, etc) is a big plus. Basic web design is a plus.
Some travel with flexible hours are required.
HTML, IContact, InDesign, Adobe, Tendency/Drupal, project management history, manufacturing/technical background is abonus.
