Join an innovative leader in healthcare diagnostics! Quidel is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist to assist with marketing communications support for a growing product pipeline. A strong graphic design background will be very useful, but this role is broader than only graphic design. The Specialist will be involved in a wide variety of tasks from managing approvals to ensure that all communications meet the strategic message, vision, look and feel of corporate standards. Helps with the development and management of strategic branding, packaging, supports marketing objectives and helps translate strategies into communication tactics. Supports project management, planning and scheduling, staying on time and within budget. Coordinates with external resources associated with marketing communications. Maintains spending within designated budget to plan or approved update. Provides logistical support for domestic and international sales and marketing activities.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of two (2) year?s work experience, preferably in marketing communications.
Some graphics and media planning/buying experience a plus.
Must have extensive experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with proficiency in Access and/or other database experience. Some experience with MAC programs: QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, desired but not required.
Must be organized and detail oriented.
Ability to work autonomously, and at the same time promote and facilitate a team effort.
High degree of ethics and professionalism while interacting with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
Ability to anticipate problems and address corporate needs proactively.
Must be an effective communicator and able to convey information in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions to resolve complex problems
Dependable, creative, self-motivated, mature, flexible individual with strong work ethic
High level of organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, high priority projects calmly while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
