The Marketing Manager, Accounting Channel is tasked with creating programs that generate awareness and engagement among accountants throughout the U.S. and ensure they are informed about how Avalara can be an efficient, cost-effective solution for their clients.
Plan, execute and evaluate marketing programs including email campaigns, webinars, advertising and other programs focused on building awareness and engagement within the accounting industry.
Identify opportunities to engage accountants through third-party media, negotiate rates, plan and execute campaigns and analyze results.
Build relationship with industry publications. Tasks may include creating marketing offers, submitting award nominations, submitting speaking proposals and managing a media calendar.
Create and manage educational programs to create thought leadership within the accounting industry.
Own the strategy and content for the Accountants Resource Center, an online property aimed at educating and engaging accountants.
Work closely with business development managers and leaders on lead conversion and nurture strategies to drive referral s from the accounting community.
Deliver timely marketing and event plans that include success metrics and reports for defined marketing initiatives.
Develop tactics and drive content targeting the accounting industry that supports marketing programs and/or campaigns.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree. Degree in business, marketing, or communications preferred.
Minimum of five years marketing experience. Experience in B2B technology marketing preferred. Experience with marketing automation, demand generation and online marketing preferred.
Understanding of Experience with CRM automation tools (e.g. SalesForce) and marketing automation platforms (e.g. Eloqua) preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing ability.
Excellent grasp of B2B marketing, the demand waterfall and the sales process. Expertise in MS Office, and the ability to develop presentations, analyze campaign results and lead gen data.
Flexibility, determination and tenacity in a growing and changing environment. You need to be goal-oriented and focus on results, but be adaptive and flexible in a fast-growing company and changing market.
Ability to work well independently as well as productively collaborate with teams in multiple business functions.
Ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks, timelines and goals.
Previous experience with companies or products that target accountants or the accounting industry, or a marketing role in an accounting firm, are pluses.
