Summary
Are you a server developer with significant high scale, high reliability experience? Do real-time database driven applications serving millions of users not intimidating to you? We at EcoFactor are seeking a exceptionally talented backend developer who is ready to take ownership of parts of our server and application stack spanning web applications, distributed device management and real-time services. This is a great role for a software developer to have a direct impact on the adoption of energy efficiency. You can truly make a difference here! Title depends on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Working in a fast paced agile environment and culture
Jointly design and implement real-time scalable and fault-tolerant Java-based services and server components
Develop troubleshooting tools and test frameworks for services you develop
Deliver high quality and high availability services
Work directly with Product Management teams to refine requirements, with QA on validation and with Operations to deploy and debug applications in production environment
Experience (Required)
5+ years of experience building high availability SaaS applications in Java or equivalent
Must have been a core member of a highly successful product development team with major architectural and programming contributions
Hands-on experience in high availability web services and server components
Deep understanding of designing modular and high performance services with server-side web frameworks like Spring and Hibernate/JPA
Understanding and appreciation for high quality code and associated best practices
Comfortable troubleshooting issues on LINUX
Experience (Desired)
Experience with high performance queue, caching and scheduling services
SQL and DB Schema Design experience
Skills
Ability to work in a deadline oriented, and fast paced environment
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team of developers
Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
Excellent sense of development/QA/release process
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Willingness to learn and to teach
Other
?BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
