Summary:
The Marketing Manager for CoolSculpting leads product development planning and execution for both product improvements on our current product line (system and applicators) as well as the additions of any new product features our second generation product. Additional responsibilities include the management of consumables including gelpads and liners. Activities will include conducting global market assessments, providing primary marketing research direction, defining product requirements, preparing new product business cases, managing product development, planning product market launch and training development, and ensuring consistent branding across products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned.):
Product Management and Development
Drive global new product development as detailed in our product roadmap (including our next generation system) from concept through launch. This includes a collaborative approach to the creation of the Marketing Requirements Document (MRD), Product Requirements Documents (PRD) and marketing plans.
Gains alignment with U.S. and International customers regarding product requirements that meet the varying global marketplace needs.
Collaborate in the creation of Engineering Product Specifications to ensure alignment and fulfillment of the original product requirements.
Market Research
Drive global marketplace research, day-in-the-life, interviews, etc to understand the target markets. Represent the end users into the organization and continue to refine conception of end users.
Analyze customer survey results, partner input, reseller input, analysts input, market research, Technical Support and Customer Service call data, feedback from focus groups and consultants, and input from other business units to identify user needs and define product requirements.
Analyze global market demographics, relevant fashion and technology trends, and product sales patterns.
Manage competitive analysis and provide competitive positioning information to Sales and Product Development.
Identify and prioritize key product opportunities and manage product portfiolio/roadmap.
Determine final customer requirements for new products and collaborate with R&D, NAF and ROW to define product requirements.
Lead cross-functional operations teams to implement strategic new product initiatives. Collaborate with a variety of functions to provide the business insight, project direction, and leadership to ensure successful project implementation.
Work closely with R&D and Clinical through entire product development process.
Work with USA and global sites to collect product and marketing feedback.
Foster close relationships with key sales and customer accounts to provide product feedback
Brand Marketing
Establish global product positioning and customer value proposition. Responsible for creation of launch documentation including positioning statement, labeling/packaging and pricing structure.
Define marketing messages to be used by PR, Marcom, and Channel Sales in their outbound collateral. Work with PR and Marcom managers to refine and communicate those messages as needed.
Responsible for performing all duties in compliance with FDA?s Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which ZELTIQ complies.
Qualifications:
BS/BA. MBA preferred.
At least 5 years experience in brand-product marketing required. Will also consider strong brand management experience with new product development. Ideal candidate would have experience in both CPG and medical device industries.
Demonstrated record of strategic marketing accomplishment.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Actively seeks input but is able to reach decision without complete consensus. Ability to work independently and take direction from others.
Strong interpersonal communications skills for both internal and external customers.
Ability to make large, interdisciplinary group presentations.
Analytical skills.
Basic computer skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Leadership skills in persuasion, building consensus, and a company-wide view of initiatives.
Strong record of brand-product management skills and some exposure to product/brand marketing; a desire to constantly learn, generate new ideas, and remain focused on the customer as part of the product development cycle. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential ; comfortable with public speaking; high energy, results oriented and self-directed leader who is collaborative and adept at leading cross-functional teams, driving change and overcoming obstacles.
30-50% travel required.
