Xradia is a fast growing scientific instrument company that designs and manufactures 3D X-ray microscopes for industrial and research applications. The company offers non-destructive high resolution/high contrast 3D imaging and quantitative analysis solutions for materials science, life sciences, geosciences, and semiconductor advanced packaging development and failure analysis. To help us drive the effective use of these instruments in the oil and gas industry, we are looking for a motivated Oil & Gas Applications Technologist.
Ideal candidate
Currently or recently employed in the Oil & Gas industry in a position directly related to quantification of core and rock properties
Intimate understanding of traditional and special core analysis techniques, petro-physics, rock mechanics, multi-phase flow, and other pertinent topics. Familiarity with digital rock physics
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent interpersonal skills
3+ years' experience
MS+ degree in petro-physics, geoscience, petroleum engineering, or related field
BS considered with 5+ years' experience
Xradia-specific competencies that candidate is expected to learn on the job:
Attain expert-level proficiency with Xradia imaging technology, particularly as it applies to imaging a variety of rock types
Technical understanding of X-ray microscopy, tomographic imaging, and image quantification
Fundamental understanding of digital rock physics and how it relates to core analysis and reservoir characterization
Key responsibilities
Primary: Lead in the development and implementation of a customer success program focused on our Oil & Gas Industrial and Academic customers
Travel to customer sites for face-to-face interaction
Work intimately with customers to enable maximal use of Xradia technology in current work-flow
Characterize operational space of current instrumentation based on customer applications
Develop both customer-specific and general application solutions based on direct customer interface
Secondary: Marketing and Product Development Support
Work with Product Management to define market requirements based on customer interactions and market research
Create customer focused Use Cases and collateral material
Understand and analyze how leaders in the field are using Xradia technology to enhance their business and accelerate solutions for new industry challenges
Identify emerging issues in the industry and propose alternative solutions utilizing Xradia technology
Analyze and evaluate alternate solutions and competitive technologies
Create detailed reports, both customer-facing and internal
Travel Requirements
Position is located in Pleasanton, CA and may require up to 25% travel both domestic and international
