Job Purpose
The Marketing Operations Analyst will play a critical role in global marketing operations team and will work with corporate marketing, field marketing, channel marketing, regional marketing, account development team (ADRs) and cross-functionally with IT and Sales Operations to develop and fine-tune processes for 1) data hygiene & quality management, and 2) marketing reporting & ROI analysis, ultimately contributing to operational efficiency, global consistency and process optimization. This person will define global data elements for marketing lead database and reporting, and represent global marketing organization in data focused initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities & Focus Areas Include:
Data Management
Create, standardize and maintain a data quality strategy to support the development of marketing database and any data related new initiatives.
Oversee all technical aspects of marketing database management, including data hygiene, CRM integration, in-house or outsourced merge-purge processing, list imports, and data quality metrics reporting
Design and perform onboarding and training to marketing users around data quality; identify, develop and share best practices & processes across geographies and functions.
Data steward: monitor lead data capture and standardization ? manage setup, processing logic, and integration of new data sources/feeds; on-going maintenance and data governance: bad data; de-dup; append & segmentation; establishing control mechanisms for regulating touch frequency, monitor opt outs.
Reporting
Ability to define data elements to form the foundation of reporting roadmap, driving marketing analytics efforts and deliver closed-loop analysis of marketing campaigns and programs.
Work with Marketing Management to implement and automate best practice marketing reporting process to measure marketing?s direct and influenced contribution to sales.
Maintain existing internal marketing team dashboards, collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as sales as new requirements come along
Develop and deliver consistent and credible metrics that demonstrate marketing return on investment. Will require integration, synthesis, cleansing and analysis of data from multiple sources, functions, databases, and tools
Qualifications
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in database management, analysis, or marketing/sales operations related areas
At least 2 years of experience in Salesforce.com and the creation of reports from the application ? deep familiarity with the data model and native reporting capabilities of SFDC.
At least 2 years of experience with data management - clear understanding of table structure, data policy setting, definition creation, best practice implementation
Must have previous experience in a marketing automation platform such as Marketo, Eloqua or other tools to capture, automate, track and report
Strong data evaluation skills, with the ability to extract and interpret data from various sources to meet business requirement
Ideal candidate combines strong technical and analytical expertise AND business acumen ? understanding how data and reports will be used to support business questions and measure progress against goals.
Analytical, detailed-oriented, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in using advanced Excel function, complex spreadsheet analysis, MS Access. Experience with analyzing large data sets. Working knowledge of SQL and previous exposure to BI tools is a plus.
Degree in Marketing/Business/Communication. Experience supporting marketing & sales in an operational capacity is favorable
Self-motivated with a highly collaborative style and strong influence skills; excellent people skills to help achieve cross-functional collaboration and success
Ability to think strategically as well as willingness to roll-up-the sleeves and do 'whatever it takes' to meet individual and company goals
Success in the role requires creativity and original thinking to proactively identify new and different approaches to analyzing data, and to synthesize multiple information sources to generate fresh strategic insights.
