Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced marketing professional for the position of Product Manager to support the commercial organization. Previous experience coordinating product development through launch is required, and both instrumentation and reagent experience is strongly desired. This individual would be expected to interact with customers and the sales force to drive demand for OpGens proprietary technology. Experience in sequencing is strongly preferred.
Primary Job Functions
Develop and execute marketing tactics such as direct mail, advertising, customer seminars, e-marketing and, social media.
Coordinate tradeshow plan to address target market segments, serve as point of contact for optimal execution and manage the lead generation and after show follow-up process.
Maintain a highly effective and current web site.
Develop marketing plans that are both strategic and involve tactical execution to achieve product awareness, demand creation and penetration into target markets.
Coordinate cross functional team (R&D, production, QA, engineering) timeline to ensure on-time product launch.
Work with internal research and development to ensure that products and services meet customer needs and requirements.
Support the needs of the sales organization with effective sales tools, marketing collateral, product pricing and training.
Maintain CRM system lead funnel, provide metrics to sales organization.
Education/Skills/Attributes Required
BA / BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Biology, with MS or MBA preferred.
5-12 years experience in life science marketing, including product launch experience.
Experience in the life science sequencing or genomics market strongly preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to effectively articulate complex, technical information to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills required. The ability to successfully interact with co-workers, customers and vendors is critical.
Must be able to utilize appropriate techniques to analyze information and make sound technical and business decisions.
Strong planning and organizing skills.
Ability to multitask and appropriately prioritize.
Requires some travel (35), including international travel.
