Marketplace Integrity: Vintage Specialist Etsy
Etsy is seeking Vintage specialist Marketplace Integrity Agents to join our Trust and Safety team. Our ideal candidates are passionate, creative, hard working, multi-lingual people who demonstrate excellent judgement and can help provide exceptional support to our members. This full-time position is based in Hudson, NY.
About the Job
Vintage specialist Marketplace Integrity Agents protect Etsy by ensuring listings qualify to be sold under our Vintage guidelines, communicating with sellers about the items listed in their shops, and educating members on our site policies. In addition, Agents will analyze larger activity patterns and trends to develop new strategies for mitigating high risk content on the site.
This is a cross-disciplinary position that requires that Agents possess exceptional judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to operate confidently in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations. Candidates should also have strong writing skills and be able to communicate to clarify and enforce our policies to our community.
Master the ins and outs of Etsy?s ever-evolving policies, products, and features
Develop research content that clearly defines what types of items qualify as Vintage on Etsy
Develop relationships with outside Vintage experts
Review member shops and listings to ensure that they comply with Etsy?s selling criteria. Be the primary point of contact to members on what can be sold on Etsy and clarify our policies to them through email
Maintain exemplary service levels while responding to members quickly and accurately
Collaborate with engineering, product, and policy teams to improve systems and processes for reviews
Act as an internal resource for questions regarding policy
This is an entry-level position with potential for growth over time.
You?re passionate and knowledgeable about vintage. You?re an exceptional rule follower and dispute resolver. You have a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-help attitude, an even temper, and the ability to work well within a team structure.
You will be successful in this role if you:
Possess expertise in Vintage goods
Enjoy in-depth research and development for reference content (the history of pyrex, the years beanie babies debuted, how to tell real bakelite from ?fakelite?, )
Are willing to seek out and develop relationships with luxury brand experts and vintage/ antique experts
Have relevant experience in online policy enforcement (preferred, but not required)
Have a high level of web savvy with excellent Internet research skills
Have fraud investigation, risk management, and e-commerce experience (preferred, but not required)
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have a level-headed temperament and ability to apply policy objectively
Demonstrate excellent, sound, logical judgement
Have leadership, organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
Be flexible, open minded, and not easily offended
Have a BA/BS degree (strongly preferred)
Are fluent in French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Mandarin, and beyond
You have a Vintage Etsy shop and are active in our Vintage seller community
