Kiva Systems is seeking a Material Handler/Inventory Control Specialist with a proven track record of Inventory Control and Administration. They will be responsible for the overall material handling and control functions involved in storage and issuance of material. Maintain perpetual inventory balances, conduct cycle counts and participate in physical inventories. They will Act as a liaison between production, purchasing, engineering, advanced manufacturing and other company groups concerning inventory issues as directed. The successful candidate will have 1 - 5 years Inventory Control experience in an ERP environment with a strong background in lean material flow practices, cycle counting and process improvement.
Material Handler/Inventory Control Specialist Overall Accountability:
Responsible for providing support to the Manufacturing Operations Team in the general areas of Inventory Control and Administration.
Evaluate and analyze data and processes supporting inventory and material control functions. Recommend solutions to problems identified. May be involved in areas such as inventory levels and profiles, component and WIP inventory accuracy, MRP planning and control parameters, aggregate inventory planning, MRB, Field Service and RMA, new product phase-in/phase-out, and ECO impact. May lead new project and process teams with inventory impact. May develop tools to improve analysis and modify existing ones.
Also responsible for the overall material handling and control functions involved in storage and issuance of material. Maintain perpetual inventory balances, conduct cycle counts and participate in physical inventories.
Material Handler/Inventory Control Specialist responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between production, purchasing, engineering, advanced manufacturing and other company groups concerning inventory issues as directed.
Coordinate cycle counting on the floor delivering reports to the various production areas and assisting in the resolution of cycle count problems.
Assist in cycle count analysis, root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
Perform data entry validation of ERP transactions and correct errors.
Support making preparations and provide assistance in any physical inventories required to be performed.
Evaluate data supporting a variety of activities relating to inventory and production control functions. Perform analysis per existing policies / procedures.
Refer major inventory opportunities and risks to management. Support such opportunities with appropriate analysis and proposals.
Develop and evaluate a variety of tools needed to obtain aggregate inventory data.
Update existing reports as required.
May lead inventory projects within and outside the department.
Identify processes and systems related problems impacting inventory and material control. Recommend strategies to resolve problems.
Develop solutions for a wide variety of inventory and material control issues.
Receive materials from receiving and outside vendors, verifying type, quantity, quality and correctness. Report deviations from standard practices; participate in corrective actions.
Maintain records on defective, damaged and discrepant receipts. Publish results.
Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks and other specialized handling equipment transporting products.
Maintain orderly and efficient work area daily.
Knowledgeable in the ECO process ensuring ECO's are properly implemented; including the review, analysis and purge of stock effected by ECO's
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: :
AS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
1 - 5 years Inventory Control experience in an ERP environment with a strong background in lean material flow practices, cycle counting and process improvement.
Good analytical skills
Written and oral communication skills
Experience with computer systems involving bar coding and application software packages
Ability to perform operational analysis to include: data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis, problem solving skills
Ability to work independently
