Kiva Systems is seeking a Materials Area Manager with a proven track record of leadership and transformation that supports a complex, hybrid "engineer to order" and "make to stock" manufacturing environment. This role will report to the Sr. Production and Inventory Control Manager. Responsible for continuously improving the overall inventory control process for Kiva Systems by implementing best practices and driving accountability. A practitioner of lean strategies, the Materials Area Manager will be responsible for 5S and continuous improvement activities. As an integral member of the management team the incumbent will collaborate with key stakeholders within Kiva Systems to implement best practices, develop performance metrics and drive process accountability in both the assembly and warehouse processes.
I. Warehouse
Responsible for verification and accuracy of all products shipped to customers and other branches.
Assist and maintain appropriate inventory levels and product loss control.
Work with Sr. Production and Inventory Control Manager on scheduling and managing physical inventory process.
Secure company assets; maintain product identification and marking control systems for the branch.
Maintain a variety of records and reports pertaining to the operation of the warehouse and assembly operation.
Operate warehouse equipment, including a forklift (as needed)
Ensure materials area meets any and all certifications and company standards for safety, efficiency and cleanliness.
II . Staffing
Monitor staff attendance, authorize staff absences and ensure appropriate coverage; manage and determine daily warehouse schedule as needed to ensure timely completion of orders and support activities.
Work with human resources and branch manager on successful employment tasks such as interviewing, hiring, evaluating and retaining qualified individuals.
Work with human resources on any employment relations/legal issues.
Conduct annual reviews for all warehouse associates; make salary recommendations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse/materials manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years of management experience required.
Possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) in order to work with both external and internal customers
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
Ability to lead a team and develop staff
Microsoft skills/Syteline experience
Strong knowledge of inventory management required
Forklift certification a plus.
4 year college degree
