The Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials; as well as being a point of contact for facility matters.
Requisitions equipment, materials and/or supplies according to established policies and procedures; prepares purchase orders.
Maintains inventory and supplier information/qualifications through ManuFact Pro (MFP).
Inspects and verifies deliveries; reconciles invoices against PO?s, checking cost and quantities received/ordered.
Authorizes payment of invoices and initiates paperwork to close out a PO in the supervisor?s absence.
Maintains ?navy folder? system for QC release of product.
Issues or distributes materials, supplies and equipment to staff from stock.
Quarantines incoming supplies until labeled, color-coded and released for use.
Assists in researching companies as a new source of supplies.
Ensures accurate inventory records through a daily lot tracking procedure and an annual physical inventory.
Maintains records of prices, quality rating, quantity and delivery dates.
Develops and revises documents to support material functions.
Schedules routine and special facility maintenance, cleaning or repair.
Removal of biohazard or regulated waste.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Training
Associates degree in business preferred.
1 year purchasing or material handling experience considered.
Knowledge of budget development and monitoring.
Knowledge of record keeping practices.
Strong computer skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Completion of general lab safety and blood borne pathogens training (includes receiving the Hepatitis B vaccination series) at the onset of employment.
Participation in continuing education training as needed.
May be required to be accessible by cell phone or pager.
Ability to perform tasks repetitively while maintaining attention to detail.
Able to work weekends; flexible to work holidays if necessary.
Able to adapt quickly to an ever changing environment.
Enthusiastic about working in a positive team atmosphere.
