Job Description â€" Shipping and Receiving, Parts Clerk

Purpose of the role
Based at Menlo Park, CA location, this position will be responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations of the parts distribution warehouse. This will include assisting technicians, service advisors, and sales personnel by locating and acquiring parts from the manufacturers cataloguing system, and assisting store with acquiring and invoicing of parts and accessories purchases. The Shipping and Receiving, Parts Clerk will also assist in the stocking and organizing parts inventory. This role will report directly to the Parts & Distribution Warehouse Manager.
Requirements:
Manage space optimization within the distribution center.
Ensure timely receiving, stocking, picking, packing and shipping of inventory to store locations and external customers.
Support and implement distribution center best practices.
Communicate to internal and external customers the inventory delivery status, including scheduled ship and due dates.
Escalate any issues that need to be addressed to correct any inbound packaging issues from our internal and external suppliers.
Core Management â€" tracking of shipments, credits, monitoring cores owed and core swapping.
Communicate with internal teams, internal and external customers to keeping all informed of the inventory and shipping status including No Bin, No Cost, No Movement reporting.
Communicate with and support management of inventory within the distribution center, including daily control of cycle counts of the distribution center inventory.
Support commercial invoicing, shipping documentation, and country-of-origin info, as needed, to support international shipping.
Optimize packaging for all outbound shipments.
Working daily with computer software, i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, SAP, Dealer Management System and E-mail systems, to effectively facilitate communications.
Fork Lift Certified.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Experience:
Recent and relevant experience in automotive parts dealership, store or distribution center environment.
Experience with SAP, other ERP/MRP and dealer management systems experience. (Reynolds & Reynolds or similar)
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, with various teams including service and supply chain personnel.
Track record of developing, implementing and driving Distribution Center business processes and policies.
Good experience in change management process (ECO).
Great negotiation skills.
Familiarity with outbound shipping requirements of components via common freight carriers domestically and internationally.
Good organizational skills to manage and track transactional details.
