THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Has the overall responsibility for company sourcing strategy and supplier selection, development, and relationship management. The position has the ultimate objective mitigating risk to our business by implementing strategies with suppliers to ensure timely and continuous supply of quality products and materials. In addition, this person has fiduciary obligations to the business to account for all purchasing activity, cash disbursements to suppliers, as well as compliance with all regulatory obligations from any state or government agency.
Assume the leadership role in supplier evaluation, approval, and performance monitoring process.
Provide overall leadership for cross-functional teams to ensure effective management and continuous performance improvement of strategic suppliers.
Lead and coordinate efforts to ensure successful and timely resolution of critical supply issues.
Negotiate supply agreements with our strategic and critical suppliers.
Key team member of development and manufacturing teams to ensure appropriate suppliers are used at earliest design stage
Interface with supplier quality team to ensure appropriate supplier controls are put in place
Interface with Finance team to ensure appropriate financial controls are put in place
Develop alternate sources to mitigate supply risk and ensure continuity of supply of critical materials.
Manage supplier portions of corporate ERP system
Develop and implement strategies to ensure materials cost objectives are achieved.
Ensure early involvement of procurement personnel and suppliers to new product development projects.
Manage team of buyer/planners and material associates.
Limited travel may be required
7-10 years of related experience in a medical device design, manufacturing and distribution environment or 5-7 years of experience with a Bachelor?s Degree
The candidate for this position will have several years of proven experience in Purchasing and Supplier Management in a ?Lean? operations environment.
The candidate must have working knowledge of Quality System Regulations and ISO13485 requirements.
The candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, strategic sourcing, inventory management, and contract law.
The successful candidate will also have strong negotiation skills, excellent teamwork/facilitations skills, and effective communication and presentation skills
Must have exceptional analytical skills to adequately analyze and interpret complex business situations.
Must have experience with implementation and evolution of ERP systems
Must have excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
Must have a strong working knowledge of the latest supply chain management techniques and familiarity with Lean Sigma.
Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations is a plus
Experience and proven experience and effectiveness in leading cross-functional teams.
Must have excellent organizational, project management skills to be able to prioritize & delegate tasks effectively and be able to work with little or no supervision.
Must have and highly developed negotiating skills.
Proficient with Microsoft, Excel & Word and other PC applications.
