Mechanic Lead - Night Shift Cleanscapes

Job Purpose: A Lead Mechanics will provide direct the workflow and mentor the CleanScapes team of Mechanics. Lead Mechanic will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to drive our safety culture and focus on customer service.
Duties:
Diagnose and repair all systems on refuse trucks including diesel and CNG engines, ECM and computer components, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspensions, hydraulic and body control systems in a shop and field environment.
Understand and follow company guidelines and regulations from DOT, OSHA, and DOE to maintain safe vehicles, a safe work place, and environmental stewardship.
Oversee other Mechanics on shift. Verify repairs are completed and accuracy of part requests.
Accurately complete work orders in CMMS including tracking labor, charging parts, and detailing repairs performed.
Use multiple sources to diagnose and determine required repairs including service manuals, online tools, and vendor resources.
Perform maintenance related tasks as assigned.
Maintain shop tools and equipment. Clean areas in and around maintenance bays as directed.
Perform road tests and transport vehicles to/ from outside repair facilities.
Always use proper Personal Protective Equipment.
Always follow Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
CleanScapes Maintenance shop is staffed 24 hours a day by 3 shifts. You will be required to work in adverse weather conditions on trucks that are dirty and may have unpleasant odors. You will need to climb ladders and crawl into tight spaces to reach some components. You must be able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable standing for extended periods of time. Some overtime is required including occasional weekends.
Skills/Qualifications:
4 years performing general repair work in a commercial truck repair facility, waste industry experience preferred.
Associate?s Degree in Diesel Technology or ASE certification preferred.
High School diploma or GED.
Class B CDL and valid med card.
Clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check.
Must provide own Master mechanic tool set.
Must be customer service driven.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Must pay attention to detail, have strong organizational skills and follow-through.
Excellent computer skills including MS Office and CMMS.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
