Job Description :
SynQor's New Product Introduction Team is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for the development and sustaining engineering of electronic hardware designs for power supplies.
The responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer position include, but are not limited to:
- The development, evaluation, and designing of hardware as part of new process development for electronic power
supplies;
- The evaluation and recommendation of materials and manufacturing processes to achieve design goals and requirements;
- The analysis of mechanical and thermal loads on hardware;
- The creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials for new products;
- Participation in ongoing cost reduction activities;
- The development and maintenance of design guidelines and processing of work instructions;
- Participate in the introduction of new product designs into production; and
- Process control and process improvement activities.
Job Requirements :
The required skills for the Mechanical Design Engineer position include, but are not limited to:
- Three to five years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering;
- Basic understanding of the design of electronics hardware and manufacturing processes for individual components through
final assembly;
- Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes including machinery, injection molding, sheet metal forming and die
casting, as well as related DFM rules and properties of materials;
- Familiarity with basic electrical engineering and heat transfer;
- Software: Pro E is preferred; Solidworks is acceptable; MS Office;
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple, ongoing tasks;
- Previous experience within a hi-tech environment is a plus.
