THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We are looking for talented mechanical engineers to perform duties requiring the application of mature professional engineering knowledge. The ideal candidate would have a scope for individual accomplishment and coordination of difficult assignments. A Mechanical Engineer deals with problems for which it may be necessary to modify established guides and devise new approaches highlighting the potential risks and benefits of the modification.
Specific Job Requirements:
A very strong background with SolidWorks or other CAD software. Working experience with Matlab and Labview are a big plus.
A strong background in micro-controller programming, such as PIC or Atmel.
Working experience with rapid prototyping and other fabrication techniques for realizing designs as hardware.
Ability to work in a fabrication shop with machine tools.
Have strong experience in building mechanical-electronic systems, including design and rapid prototype the mechanical parts, designing and build analog/digital circuit, write and debug the firmware for the micro-controller.
Have strong experience in driving different type of actuators, including motors, linear resonant actuators, piezo based actuators or other smart material based actuators.
The ability to design driving circuit for high voltage (100V to 200V) actuators is desired.
Familiar with different sensors, such as force sensors, accelerometers, etc?.
Experience with FEA software, preferably using Marc Mentat from MSC.
Understanding of structural dynamics and analytical and computational analysis methods for characterizing structural dynamics
Desire and ability to apply new engineering approaches and techniques to the design and development of innovative products and processes.
Ability to make accurate and feasible engineering and business judgments.
Understanding of intellectual property (IP) processes and ability to translate technical ideas into IP claims.
