Job Description:
Work in a collaborative team environment to review and analyze electrical schematics, Mechanical drawings and supporting documents to interpret electrical/mechanical design requirements & create original board layouts, Mechanical designs, detailed drawings, and illustrations.
Supporting design of rigid PCBs and Mechanical designs from conception to manufacturing including: components placement, routing, constraint-driven design, signal integrity analysis, library part creation, Gerber file creation, and all related documentation within the Layout tool design environment Confer with engineering staff to resolve design details and problems
Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all designs, including manufacturing data
Provide support during product development, production and continuous improvement & managing relationships with 3rd party PCB and machine manufacturing partners
Responsibilities:
Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD (3-D Modeling) hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
PCB design/Layout experience including mixed-signal & power Knowledge of current PCB production technologies and methods.
Capable of resolving vendor issues Experience with fine pitch SMT components in a lead free environment.
Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
Checks drawing documentation versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECO/ECR documentation.
This person should have substantial understanding of the job and the ability to apply that knowledge and skill to complete a wide range of tasks.
They should be able to work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
This person should require little instruction on daily work, and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
Knowledge of IPC Standards Familiarity of UL, CSA, VDE and other electrical standards is a plus.
Requirements:
This job will typically require an AS degree and 2 years or equivalent job related experience
Ability to work independently; self starter
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Cadence or Altium Software desired
