Mechanical Technician I Nanocomp Technologies

Conducts measurements and basic research projects under the supervision of a senior engineer or project leader. The incumbent may initiate the development of new material processing technologies and engineering aspects of research and product development the areas of carbon nanotubes, devices, and related nanostructures. May supervise technicians and/or students. The incumbent is expected to have significant hands-on experience in materials fabrications and in parametric design systems such as Solid Works or ProEngineer. Requirements include a bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent experience; competency with Excel, Word, and statistics; excellent communications skills and mechanical ability. Must be able to take direction and yet be able to work with a minimum of supervision, as well as be a team player and have previous hands-on laboratory work experience. U. S. Citizenship is mandatory.
