The Local Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for working with BrandMuscle's Local Marketing Specialists to plan and purchase media space or time for clients in a variety of local media. Must have in-depth understanding of various local media options and how each supports client marketing objectives.
Under general supervision, the Media Planner/Buyer:
Researches, negotiates and executes advertising placement in a variety of local media, including: Newspaper, Magazine, Radio, Email, Social Media, TV and Yellow Pages.
Analyzes media placement and results to identify the most cost effective mix by market.
Is responsible for day to day management of client media plans including execution details, budgets and accounting.
Manages material deliver in a timely, efficient manner. Ensures all necessary forms are completed and delivered in an accurate and timely fashion.
Assists senior planners with other planning/buying functions.
Develops strong strategic planning skills and is able to use common planning and buying processes and systems.
Develops client presentation skills.
Keeps up on media trends.
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Detail and client service-oriented.
Self-starter, ability to work without direct supervision.
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
Well versed in use of Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of media research tools and systems.
Excellent organizational skills.
A minimum of 3 years media buying experience in an advertising agency, media agency or corporate media buying department.
