Overview:
Well established online games media company, based in Redmond, WA. with a global presence, is seeking a Media Tech Engineer to be the ?go to? ad server technical expert for our campaign management, account management, and sales teams. Job responsibilities include being the resident expert, and day-to-day manager, on how our ad server (DoubleClick) interacts with our owned-and-operated site and web client, our various ad platform products, the sites of our partners who comprise our network, and the creative (rich media, video, and display) as delivered by our advertising clients. Additional responsibilities include integrating partner sites into our network, integrating third-party technologies into our ad operations environment and process, and troubleshooting issues related to campaign delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of ad delivery system, but also have the technical understanding required to troubleshoot issues impacting campaign delivery such as flawed creative/ad tags. Candidate should also be tech savvy, with a real passion for Internet and web technologies and a good understanding of the latest trends and upcoming technology shifts. Responsibilities:
Resident expert on DoubleClick ad serving products with the ability to:
Actively manage our ad server to ensure appropriate operation and optimized campaign deliver
Serve as a resource for Development and Sales by applying a knowledge of JavaScript and HTML towards managing our ad creative
Resident troubleshooter on campaign delivery issues with the ability to use Fiddler/WireShark/Firebug/IE Inspect to look at HTTP requests/responses to conjecture intelligently on possible problems involving creative
Primary technical interface between advertising operations and publisher?s content delivery and QA teams
Ability to apply knowledge of video encoding technologies, including VAST and VPAID, to enable campaign delivery across multiple publisher sites and device types
Ability to provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as it relates to all areas of Ad Operations, striving to increase process efficiency and product performance
Ability to train Campaign Managers on ad serving technology to increase their technical understanding and self-sufficiency
Ability to work collaboratively with Sales to recommend campaign modifications, leveraging understanding of advertiser and product performance
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in directly managing ad servers; experience with DoubleClick products a definite plus.
Bachelor degree in CS/MIS or equivalent training and certifications
Knowledge of online ad campaign analytics, and familiarity with common online media technologies such as behavioral targeting, a plus
Deep understanding of JavaScript and HTML a definite plus. Knowledge of HTML5 desirable.
Flash, ActionScript, XML, API knowledge are all highly desirable.
Understanding of Facebook APIs a definite plus
Must be analytical, mathematically inclined, detail oriented, and a self-motivated team player who is both organized and outgoing
Ability to present complex concepts and recommendations in a clear and effective manner both verbally and in writing
Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment.
