SourceMedical is currently seeking a Charge Poster for its location in Fort Myers, Florida.
Summary of Position:
The main duties for this position are to enter billing charges in software, submit claims electronically and/or paper and follow up with clearing houses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Enter charges provided by coder
2. Post contract adjustment manually or electronically
3. Upload clearinghouse
4. Make necessary corrections
5. Check clearinghouse report for payor acceptance
6. Correct and resend non-accepted claims
7. Print and send paper claims, where applicable
8. Place appropriate notes in patient account
9. Generate/balance EOM closing reports
10. Other duties as assigned
Education/Qualifications:
--High school graduate or GED certification
-- Healthcare billing experience required
--Healthcare charge posting experience preferred
--Knowledge of computers and Windows-driven software
--Excellent command of written and spoken English
--Cooperative work attitude toward and with co-employees, management, patients, outside contacts
--Ability to promote favorable company image with patients, insurance companies, and general public
--Ability to solve problems associated with assigned tasks
